A new talk on New Dictionaries on Historical Principles on historical
principles
Abstract:
This will be a fairly informal talk about dictionary creation.
Dictionaries are perhaps the nearest thing to a linguistics book that
practically everyone has encountered and yet familiar as they are,
when you start to look closely at what they are and how they come to
be, its possible to run into a few surprises. In the course of this
talk I hope to be able to convey something of the unexpected aspects
of the nature and creation of dictionaries, and of one dictionary in
particular...

cooperation among Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University,
University College Dublin and the Dublin Institute of Technology, a
long standing collaboration which overlaps with the SFI CNGL/ADAPT
