24 May: DCLRS -- change of practice in relation to General Data Protection
Dublin Computational Linguistics Research Seminar: Index of May 2018 | Dublin Computational Linguistics Research Seminar - Index of year: 2018 | Full index
Hello.
This is to mention a change in the processing of emails that have been
designated for the list called "cogsci", run from tcd.ie.
Until now, a significant portion of the membership of this list (591
people) have been members largely by inertia, from days when they were
students of TCD.
Now is a good time to ensure that members have explicitly consented
to be members.
This is the last message to be sent to the list under the former
system.
Immediately after this message is sent, the membership of this list
will be altered removing all subscriptions.
If you hope to continue to receive messages of the sort that had been
sent (nearly always announcements for the Dublin Computational
Linguistics Research Seminar, but sometimes the odd other talk or
comparable event), then please subscribe directly using the interface
provided here:
https://lists.scss.tcd.ie/mailman/listinfo/cogsci
The list is used for no other purpose than described above, and
email addresses of subscribers are not shared with anyone else.
Others, besides me, who are registered as possible email senders to
the list are: John Kelleher, Arthur Cater, Jennifer Foster, Martin
Emms, and Tim Fernando.
You can subscribe and unsubscribe whenever you like.
If you hope not to continue to receive such announcements, then
inertia will serve you well, as no further action on your part
is necessary.
In any case, I hope this reaches you on a day that pleases you.
All my best,
