Senior/Research Associate in Psycholinguistics

The Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics is a
free-standing department of the University of Cambridge whose primary
purpose is to undertake and promote research in English and applied
linguistics. We run a 9-month MPhil and a PhD programme. Research
interests of members of staff are in linguistic and cognitive
approaches to first and second language acquisition,
psycholinguistics, syntax, morphology, semantics and pragmatics,
computational linguistics, and discourse analysis.

We are currently looking for an additional psycholinguist to add to
our teaching and research team. Applicants should have, or be prepared
to develop, an interest in language processing in bilinguals and/or
second language learners, particularly in the area of
syntax/semantics. As well as initiating their own research projects,
the post-holder will be expected to assist in teaching on the MPhil,
particularly in psycholinguistics and research methods.

Applicants should have a good first degree in psychology with a PhD in a relevant discipline.

The salary for a Research Associate will be between £16,775 - £25,213
and for a Senior Research Associate £21,435 - £30,967, depending on
age and experience. The appointment will be for three years in the
first instance, with the possibility of renewal. The preferred
starting date is January 2001.
