The Department of Computational Linguistics at the University of the
Saarland in Saarbrücken, Germany, is currently seeking computational
linguists and computer scientists with NLP background for several
postgraduate and postdoctoral positions in the following areas:

* Dialog processing (spoken language, multimodal perspectives).

* Computational Lexicography. Emphasis is on technology for
large semantic lexica.

* Modeling of NL comprehension (cognitive and computational
aspects). Emphasis is on semantics, but research ranges from the
syntax/semantics interface to inference.

Positions are for two to five years. The salary is according to the
BAT IIa scale, starting from around Euro/US$ 30.000 p.a., depending on
age and family status. It is possible to pursue Habilitation or
Ph.D. dissertation work. Working languages are German and English.

The University of the Saarland provides a stimulating research

Department of Computational Linguistics is recognized as one of the
leading institutes in the field worldwide. It cooperates closely with
the Departments of Computer Science and Cognitive Psychology, the
German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), and the
Max-Planck-Institute for Computer Science. The Department maintains
worldwide cooperations and research contacts to academic and
industrial institutions.
