General Description
You will be a member of the SAP groups
Application Engineering Workbench (AEW)/MultiLingual Technology (MLT).
Both groups are part of the area Basis Development in which
all tools for the SAP environment are developed.
The MultiLingual Technology group (MLT) provides linguistic
and technical support for multilingual tools used in SAP
in-house documentation development and translation as well as
for external agencies.
Support is provided for both commercial tools, in the field of
Machine Translation METAL/T1/Comprendium and Logos and in the
field of Translation Memory Trados, and for SAP proprietary
tools for documentation and translation.
The group is also working on new solutions in other fields of
NLP including terminology management.
Duties
You will participate in the conception of the new
innovative SAP Intranet/Internet translation environment and
its construction and administration.
This position offers you the opportunity to contribute to the
creation of a role-based solution. You will collaborate on the
development of an optimally adapted solution for each of the
different user roles (e.g. SAP internal or external
translator, project manager, support staff, etc).
You will work alongside experienced R/3 tool developers,
MLT support and language specialists. Your areas will be
SAP's translation editor, the Knowledge Warehouse, Machine Translation,
Translation Memory, Terminology Management.... You will develop a
completely new configurable solution for all translation tools
and services users.
Required Skills
We are more than willing to consider motivated
graduates with some experience of or a strong interest in the
above listed areas.
Following initial training the successful applicant will soon
be ready to take on responsibility for the development of new
solutions.
An honours degree or equivalent in Computer Science and/or
Computational Linguistics
Knowledge of one or more of the following programming
languages ABAP, VC++, VB (COM) and Java
Experience in the development of Web applications (knowledge
of HTML and Java Script)
An eye for the graphical layout of user interfaces
Experience with NLP-tools would be a definite plus
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Good working knowledge of English, some knowledge of German
would be advantageous
