PART-TIME RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP IN
COMPUTATIONAL LINGUISTICS
The Program in Computational Linguistics at King's College, London is
offering a part-time research assistantship in compuational
linguistics. The position is for a two year period from October 1, 2000
until September 30, 2002.
We invite applications from students who are interested in entering our
MPhil/Ph.D program. However, we will also consider applications from
post-doctoral researchers and candidates completing Ph.D's at other
institutions.
Details of the position are as follows.
A part-time programming and NLP RA to assist in the implementation of a
dialogue system. The position is funded by an Economic and Social
Research Council (ESRC) grant. For a Ph.D student the position is 40% of
an RA1B ranked Researcher, and the salary is from £7,368 to £8,127
(inclusive of London Allowance), on the RA1B scale. For a post-doctoral
RA, the position will be 40% of an RA1A ranked researcher's salary. It
will involve approximately 12 hours a week.
An interest in computational approaches to dialogue and good programming
skills (preferably in Prolog and/or C) are required.
Note that the appointment of the candidate must be approved by the
ESRC.
