POST-DOCTORAL POSITION in the Reasoning, Development and Pragmatics
lab at the Institut des Sciences Cognitives in Lyon, France. This is
a 1 year position designed to experimentally investigate issues
related to pragmatics and reasoning. Candidates should have proven
experimental skills and an appreciation for (at least one of) the
areas of research, though specific background is less important than
what the candidate can bring to the lab with respect to methodology
(e.g. Evoked Potentials or Eyetracking) or with respect to
theoretical knowledge. The post is to begin immediately.
The Institute is a new, multidisciplinary center that has a variety
of equipment and access to diverse clinical populations. The
candidate should appreciate teamwork and an interdisciplinary
outlook. Good working knowledge of oral French is recommended but not
necessary. This Post-Doc is funded by the CNRS of France as part of
an effort to strengthen selected young group leaders (as advertised
in Nature June 29). Applicants must be non-French citizens
(foreigners or those residing in France for less than 2 years). The
net monthly salary ranges from FF10,000 to 13, 000 according to
experience. Lyon is a charming city (as well as the culinary capital
of France) and ideally situated for many recreational activites.
