matrix structure, which means that you may be teaching on more than
one degree course. You may also be asked to supervise dissertations.

You will be expected to contribute to the Faculty's research in

underlying language and language use'; your speciality will preferably
be in the area of the linguistic study of orality. You will also be
expected to carry out certain administrative tasks.

Requirements:

Doctorate in English Language, General Linguistics or Applied
Linguistics. An excellent command of English, both written and
spoken. A thorough knowledge of one or more English-speaking
communities. A teaching specialism in oral skills and grammar,
including familiarity with the appropriate didactic principles and
relevant ICT applications. A research specialism in orality and
language structure, or a willingness to address this area in your
research. The ability to work in a team.

Special remarks:

The position is composed of two parts. The teaching part amounts to
50% of a full position; the research part to 20%. The contract will be
initially for two years; thereafter tenure is available. A
non-Dutch-speaking candidate will be expected to have acquired Dutch
within two years of appointment. There is a possibility that this
position will be expanded in the foreseeable future.

Salary:

In keeping with the salary regulations for academic staff, the maximum
salary for full-time appointment is NLG 8769 per month (before tax and
other deductions; salary scale 12).
