UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN
Applications are invited by the Governing Body of the University for
the Professorship of Linguistics.
University College Dublin is the largest university institution in
Ireland. The academic diversity of the University and the unique
linguistic situation in Ireland enrich teaching and research in the
Department of Linguistics. The Department provides a wide range of
courses in theoretical linguistics at undergraduate and postgranduate
level and has an active research profile.
The professor will be a scholar of distinction in one or more areas of
theoretical linguistics. She/he will be expected to contribute to the
subject by teaching, research and other scholarly activity. She/he
will also be expected to maintain and further the teaching and
research programmes of the Department to meet the evolving needs of
the subject.
It is essential that the successful candidate possesses:
- Appropriate postgraduate qualifications at doctoral or
equivalent level
- Experience in teaching and research supervision at university
level
- A proven record of high quality research and publications
- Interpersonal and management skills.
