RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
IN METAPHORICAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING

School of Computer Science
The University of Birmingham
England

Applications are invited for two posts of Research Fellow in
Metaphorical Language Processing, starting as soon as possible (up to
September 2001). Part-time involvement is negotiable, from a minimum of
50%. The duration of the posts will be between one and three years.
One of the posts is supported by an EPSRC grant. The Fellows will work
closely with Prof. John Barnden on the pragmatic, semantic and/or
syntactic processing of metaphorical language. Corpus-based study of
metaphorical and other figurative language is also a possibility.

I am also looking for a research STUDENT to replace someone who decided
that games programming was more lucrative than metaphor research, oddly
enough. Any help here would be much appreciated.
