The company is committed to continuous improvements in all its products and
current plans for automatic speech recognition (ASR) include improvements in
accuracy, robustness, feature set and computational efficiency. To achieve
these aims, we are seeking two new recruits:


1) Speech Recognition R&D Engineer.

To work as part of the speech recognition team, performing data analysis and
algorithm development to enhance accuracy and add features to existing
automated speech recognition software, and to devise new methods when
appropriate.

Requirements:
A higher degree in speech recognition or a related technology.
At least 2 years' experience of programming in C, or preferably C++ (a test
will be given during any interview).
Evidence of some form of innovation in the field of automatic speech
recognition or a related technology.
Thorough knowledge of mainstream automated speech recognition techniques.
Experience of real-world signal processing applications, with an
understanding of issues affecting numerical accuracy and computational
efficiency.
Innovative, creative and imaginative approach to solving problems.
Self-motivated, versatile, enthusiastic and quick to learn.

Preferred attributes:
Experience in writing commercially proven software.
Experience in structural design of large object-oriented software systems.
Knowledge of multiple spoken languages.


2) Speech Recognition Software Engineer.

To perform software design and development work relating to new and existing
speech technology products. Initially this will be directed towards adding
features and enhancing the efficiency, robustness and maintainability of
existing automatic speech recognition software.

Requirements:
A good honours degree in a relevant discipline.
Formal training in software development principles and techniques.
At least 4 years experience of programming in C++ (a test will be given).
Experience of real-world signal processing system design for efficiency and
maintainability.
Innovative, creative and imaginative approach to solving problems.
Self-motivated, versatile, enthusiastic and quick to learn.

Preferred attributes:
Experience in writing commercially proven software.
Awareness of signal processing algorithms, methods and concepts.
