JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Language Development team at Dictaphone is looking for a language
modeling engineer to create high-quality language models for our
medical products. We are seeking a candidate to write scripts and use
in-house tools to clean and analyze text data for statistical language
models; work with R&D groups and business units to define specialty
domains; build and test product language models. Candidate will also
be expected to work with research on designing and incorporating new
research algorithms.
Responsibilities include:
Development of high coverage, diverse Language Models (LMs) Writing
scripts to clean and tag text data Working with area specialists in
and outside of company to define LM domains Linguistic & scripting
work to analyze and normalize vocabulary variants Running language
model production tools from LM Research and Tools groups Accuracy
testing of language models (develop test scripts, run testing tools)
Managing work flow from initial data cleaning to final product models
Collaborate on incorporation new language modeling research design and
incorporation
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU:
- 3-5 years experience working in development environment
- Programming skills essential, preferably Perl or Python; C/C++ a plus
- Comfortable working in NT and Linux, with a variety of data formats
- Must have at least one of the following: Computational Linguistics
- Medical terminology, or medical editing experience
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact with both technical and non-computer professionals
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Linguistics or
- related field
- Must be native speaker of English.
