UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE, COMPUTER LABORATORY

Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in Knowledge
Management, to take up appointment on 1 October 2001.

The ideal candidate will have a research profile in information
discovery, retrieval, extraction, summarisation and (re)presentation
for textual and transcribed spoken data, with experience of both
knowledge-based and statistical techniques for data mining, knowledge
management and natural language processing. They should be able to
teach courses in core computer science, classical IR and the more
recent developments and extensions in knowledge management, both at
undergraduate level and on the MPhil in Computer Speech, Text and
Internet Technology.

Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for three or
five years in the first instance, with the possibility of
reappointment to the retiring age. The pensionable scale of stipends
for a University Lecturer is L21,435 a year, rising by eleven annual
increments to L33,058.
