The Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois is seeking =
to make a visiting appointment in syntax (rank open) for the Spring =
semester 2002, (or a half-time appointment for the academic year =
2001-02).

Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in teaching, a broad =
intellectual engagement with the field of linguistics, and a =
theoretically informed research specialization in some area of syntax.=20

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of two =
courses, including an advanced seminar on a topic of current interest. =
Expertise in morphology, computational linguistics, phrase-structure =
grammar a plus.
