The Natural Language Processing group at Microsoft Research, Redmond,
USA is looking for a summer intern to do linguistic research on
ellipsis. The candidate would design and implement a module that
identifies elliptical constructions, locates target expressions for
the ellipses and copies appropriate elements to yield a more fully
articulated logical form representation.

Candidates should have a solid grounding in syntax and logical form
representations. The NLP group works on Chinese, English, French,
German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. Familiarity with several of
these languages, or at least with the typological issues pertinent to
ellipsis, is important for the successful completion of this work.

Programming experience is a definite plus.
