LingoMotors, Inc. is an exciting pre-IPO Internet startup creating the
next generation search technology that makes finding what you want on
the Internet as easy as asking for it in Ordinary Language. The
technology team, comprised of 15 Ph.D.'s, and a host of linguistic,
computer and business experts have developed 16 proprietary,
patent-pending technologies that empower users to "type the way you
talk" to obtain targeted search results.

Our rapidly expanding team has an immediate need for:

COMPUTATIONAL LEXICOGRAPHERS

You will be assisting in the development of the knowledge
resources, working within a multidisciplinary team of linguists,
engineers and programmers.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to,
the following:

- Analyze text corpora in different linguistic domains;
- Assist in developing and extending lexical databases;
- Contribute to the creation of automatic tools for lexicographic
projects;
- Assist in testing and evaluating the contribution of the knowledge
resources to the overall system.

We are looking for people who enjoy working within a team in a
fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must be able to play an
active role in the group by combining independent and creative
thinking with specific project needs and deadlines. The minimal
requirement is an advanced university degree with a background in
linguistics or lexicography. LingoMotors will provide training on the
job as well as through lectures and technical documentation. A
background in semantics and a familiarity with the latest research,
especially the theoretical model advanced by James Pustejovsky in The
Generative Lexicon (1996), is preferred. Programming experience is
not required but it is a plus.

LINGUISTIC QUALITY ENGINEER

to define and conduct tests that stress the linguistic features of
LingoMotors's products. Connect linguistic features to quality as
perceived by the end user and assist in prioritizing and defining
linguistic feature development. Define and conduct usability
testing. A strong understanding of Linguistics and Semantics, coupled
with an extensive background in experimental design, QA or usability
testing is required. The successful candidate will be highly skilled
in the Software Quality Control process and implementation.


SENIOR SEARCH ARCHITECT

A senior hands-on developer with world-class search background to
design, develop and deliver subsystems of a sophisticated natural
language processing system and lead the development of search
applications at an architectural and implementation level. Develop,
unit test and release subsystems. Mentor junior developers and
participate in the overall product development and customer
integration process. Assist in the selection, development and/or
purchase and implementation of appropriate tools. Closed-domain
search product development and exposure to query reformulation
solutions desired. Windows NT and Win2K server development experience
required. Must possess strong object oriented development experience,
Smalltalk preferred. Strong background in machine learning methods
required. Knowledge of Natural Language Processing techniques
desirable.
