Summer student positions

Would you like to work on cutting edge research in the areas of
information retrieval or machine learning?

Are you a Perl and/or C++ programming wizard?

Do you want to help select your summer project and work on something
of interest to you?

Apply for a summer student position at NEC Research Insitute. NEC
Research Institute is a basic research laboratory located in
Princeton, NJ, a short drive from Princeton University. For more
information, see http://www.neci.nj.nec.com/. The research will be
related to information retrieval or machine learning, and may form
part of PhD research, with guidance provided by scientists at NEC
Research Institute. A sample of recent projects at NEC include:

ResearchIndex: indexing scientific literature

Inquirus: content-based metasearch
Artificial markets: analyzing the predictive power of game markets like HSX

Candidates should have experience in research and be able to
effectively communicate research results through publications and
presentations. Proficiency with Perl and/or C++ is
required. Experience with Linux is desired.

The Institute provides an outstanding research environment with many

open publication of results. The successful candidate will combine a
genuine desire to excel in research with the above attributes.
