Speech Recognition - Pre-sales Applications Engineer, Germany

Based in Munich, Germany, you will use this world-leading speech
recognition company's state-of-the-art speech recognition and dialog
management software to sell and implement leading edge telephony
applications in the telephone network and in major corporate call
centers. This company's software is used by industry-leading
companies for a range of applications such as reservations, stock
trading, banking, messaging, and customer service. This company
enables companies to augment their e-commerce offerings by offering
24x7 universal access through the ultimate "thin-client" - the
telephone - all through a spoken interface.

This position is based in Germany.

Responsibilities:

* Work directly with clients to help them understand the technical
aspects of this company's capabilities, and develop possible sales
scenarios. Help convince prospects of the value of our products,
services and the company in general.
* Perform initial application discovery with customers for
speech-enabled applications in call center and e-commerce
environments.
* Work with customers to evaluate possible paths forward that are
technologically feasible and make good business sense.
* Work with the Sales team and the Solutions organization to develop
work estimates and statements of work for speech applications based on
preliminary requirements.
* Work with the Sales, Solutions, Product, and Speech Science
organizations, as necessary, to determine innovative approaches for
"non-standard" implementations.
* Provide technical content to sales proposals.

Requirements:

* Significant customer-facing experience, preferably in a pre-sales or
customer application delivery role.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and
German, including ability to make technical presentations. Native
speaker of German preferred.
* Familiarity with the sales process for software, IVR, or call
center/CTI technologies is preferred.
* Experience in computer telephony, data communications, telecom
industry, or speech recognition desirable.
* BSEE or BSCS or equivalent experience preferred.
* Be able to work with a minimum amount of direct supervision.

Senior Speech Project Manager, Germany

Based in Munich, Germany, you will use this world-leading

This position is based in Germany.

Responsibilities:

* Act as our primary interface to specific customers during project
implementation (as leader of the engineering team that is delivering
the project)
* Manage a dynamic and talented team of engineers and user interface
specialists throughout specification, development, deployment and
maintenance phases of project delivery
* Use your experience in the field to approve accurate estimations for
new projects as they are being sold in Germany
* Use your experience in the field to help define key new features for
future products and enhancements

Requirements:

* At least two years as a C or C++ developer in a UNIX or NT
environment required
* Desire and ability to work directly with customers (track record and
references important), minimum five years experience required
* Experience in computer telephony or telecom industry a plus
* Native speaker of German
* Excellent oral and written communications skills in both German and
English
* University-level education (BS for North America, Diplom for
Germany)
* Be able to work with a minimum amount of direct supervision
* Instill confidence in your abilities when working with prospects and
clients
* Identify functionality versus schedule tradeoffs under pressure
* Deal calmly with demanding customers in unforgiving environments
* Work well with other technical experts in user interfaces and speech
recognition
* Experience leading software development projects
* Relevant experience working with internal or external client
organizations
* A good track record at estimating budgets and schedules, and
delivering on them
