Senior Research and Technical Staff in NLG, Summarisation, Multi-model
Systems, or Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
Motorola Australian Research Centre:
The Motorola Australian Research Centre (MARC) as a part of Motorola
Labs, located in Sydney, was created in 1995 to develop innovative
technologies that will drive the company's future business growth. It
currently employs close to 60 research scientists and engineers. Sydney,
with its natural harbour and golden beaches, is one of the world's most
beautiful cities. As part of its long-term growth plan MARC continues to
expand its Natural Language Processing and Multi-Modal research team.
Natural Language Processing (NLP) Lab:
The NLP lab develops underlying technologies for spoken and multi-modal
user interfaces. These technologies include among others multi-modal
input/output processing,
natural language understanding/generation, dialog management,
textual/non-txtual information processing, knowledge representation and
user modeling. Our vision is to enable a transparent user interface
between humans and a networked world.
The NLP lab has one immediate opening for senior research and technical
lead position. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in
research at the leading edge of technology. Candidates should possess a
PhD with at least two years of working experience and excellent
communication skills, be excellent team players, have strong programming
skills (particularly in C/C++/Java), and proven technical competencies.
Qualifications necessary include:
Experience in some of:
Computational linguistic, in particular natural language generation or
summarization,
Multi-modal input/output processing,
Knowledge representation and reasoning or other areas of Artificial
Intelligence.
And a PhD in a relevant field, including (not exclusively):
Computational Linguistics,
Computer Science.
