PhD studentship available in NLP, University of Sheffield

The natural language processing group at the University of Sheffield
has a PhD studentship available for three years from September 1st 2001.
The topics of research interest to the group can be found at
http://nlp.shef.ac.uk and I would be happy to discuss any candidate's
particular research goals by email. At the moment we are particularly
interested in building on our work in conversational technologies or
applications of machine learning to NLP, but will consider any plausible
topic. The studentship is a UK Government EPSRC studentship at the
standard rate which we could augment by negotiation from group funds
(see general terms at epsrc.ac.uk).
