EPFL Graduate School in Computer and Communication Sciences

Purpose
This Graduate School is the first phase of the PhD program in Computer and
Communication Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in
Lausanne. It covers topics in applied mathematics, computer science and
electrical engineering, through three orientations:
- Communication Systems,
- Global Computing,
- Computing and Multimedia Systems.

Program
The one-year program consists of
- several core courses out of a proposed choice in a given orientation,
- a minimum of two optional courses covering advanced topics,
- a project that initiates the student to independent research.
All courses are in English.

Fellowships
Financial support will be granted, for the duration of the courses, to the
best candidates on a competitive basis.

Deadline for applications: 30 April 2002
Courses: October 2002 - July 2003

in Lausanne, on Lake Geneva and close to the Swiss Alps. It comprises six
