Distinction. Quality. Merit. Share in our Success at Stirling
The University of Stirling is increasing its investment in research
following the success of its performance in the recent national
Research Assessment Exercise (RAE),when it was recognised for the
dramatic upturn in its research performance.More than half of the
University's research-active academics now work in subjects in the
high category of ?5', with Stirling's research being assessed as
highly successful in all four Faculties. Consequently,the University
has established a new Strategic Research Fund aimed at growing
particular areas of academic expertise.The recruitment of the
following key personnel will support this growth.
DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY (5 rated, 2001 RAE)

This department is currently consolidating and extending its research strengths and activities in two areas:
the Philosophy of Mind
Social/Legal Philosophy
You will be active in research in one of these areas. The post will be
tenable from 1 February 2003, but a later starting date may be
arranged.
