The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications
for a full-time tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor
(commencing July 1, 2003) in Applied Linguistics, with
subspecialization or demonstrable interest in Computer-Assisted
Language Learning / Multimedia. This position is subject to budgetary
approval.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or Ph.D. in hand, preferably strong
research programme, teaching experience and background directly
related to teaching responsibilities. The selected candidate will be
joining a department of French with solid programs in linguistics,
literature and cultural studies, and should thus have a clear and
enthusiastic commitment to working in such a broad context. Duties
would include teaching beginners', intermediate and advanced language
classes, as well as developing 1st year curriculum using CALL. The
nature of the courses to be taught requires the candidate to be a
native or near-native speaker of French. The salary will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
