The Centre for Research in Applied Social and Philosophical Studies is =
seeking applications for
TWO three-year full time PhD studentships, which will be available for =
entry in January 2003.=20

The Centre is located in the School of Social Studies, which offers awards =
in Social Welfare, Applied Philosophical Studies, Community Justice & =
Counselling Studies. The research interests of the team offering supervisio=
n are broadly in these areas but include specific interests in:=20

Contemporary social and political theory
Applied ethics
Modern European Philosophy=20

The studentship provides an annual bursary payment of =A39,000 per year in =
line with EPSRC guidelines. There will also be the opportunity to =
participate in teaching and research projects.=20

Candidates should have a minimum of a good honours degree in one of the =
above disciplines or a related discipline and be interested in pursuing =
research in a multidisciplinary context.
