Junior/Senior Research Position in Speech Recognition
in the TEMPLATE project

at the ESAT/PSI SPEECH GROUP
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium

A 4 yr. research position is available within the TEMPLATE project
studying the possibilities of template based and data driven speech
recognition as opposed to the conventional HMM approach.
The project will study both the intrinsic potential of data driven
recognition as well as the resulting though important computational
aspects.

The term of the position is from 01 JAN 2003 till 31 DEC 2006.

Candidates should have a degree in electrical engineering, computer science,
informatics, mathematics or statistics.
Programming experience in C or another high-level language is recommendable.

This research project is supported by a grant of the Fund for Scientific
Research in Flanders (FWO).

The ESAT/PSI speech group is active in speech recognition and has currently
about 15 active researchers.

Junior researchers as well as postdoctoral candidates are encouraged to

Junior candidates would be expected to complete a PhD during the project.
