Lecturer B Philosophy

The School of English Literatures, Philosophy and Languages is seeking
to appoint a full-time lecturer in its Philosophy Program. The
Philosophy Program offers its own major and contributes subjects into
other areas such as Communications, Law, Environmental Science, and
Health and Behavioural Sciences. Subjects offered group around
ethics/applied ethics, epistemology, the philosophy of mind and action,
and social philosophy, as well as logic and the philosophy of language.
These foci reflect the current research interests of staff.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach in philosophy across
all undergraduate and postgraduate levels, undertake Honours and
Postgraduate supervision, contribute to the Program's teaching in
applied ethics and the philosophy of law, play a leading role in
curriculum development in the area of media ethics and the law, and add
to the Faculty's research activities. The Program would welcome an
applicant who could develop and teach a subject in contemporary European
philosophy. Annual salary of $52,231 - $62,024 plus generous
superannuation contributions and access to salary packaging.
