The Division of Computational Linguistics in the Department of
Linguistics at the University of Tuebingen, Germany has an opening for
the position of:
Lecturer and Program Coordinator for the International
B.A./M.A. Program in Computational Linguistics (ISCL).

The earliest starting date for the position is February 1, 2003. The
position is currently funded until December 31, 2003. However,
pending renewal of the position by the German Academic Exchange
Service (DAAD), the appointment can be extended until December 31,
2005.

Duties for the position include teaching in computational linguistics
(1 four-hour course per semester taught in English) and administrative
coordination of the ISCL program (including student advising, student
admissions, preparation of reports and other communication in German
with external funding agencies).

Excellent language skills in German and English and training in
computational linguistics are required. Programming experience in
Java and/or managerial experience are highly desirable.

The position is at the rank of ''Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter''
(M.A. or equivalent required; Ph.D. or equivalent preferred). The
salary is determined by the German civil servants payscale
(Verguetungsgruppe BAT IIa) and amounts to approximately 42.000 Euro
per year. The exact salary amount varies depending on age and marital
status.
