Department of Philosophy (PERMANENT POSITION)

Assistant Lecturer /College Lecturer

Applications are invited for the post commencing in September 2002.
Candidates should possess a postgraduate degree, preferably a
doctorate, in Philosophy, and their areas of expertise should include
one or more of the following: Moral Philosophy; Classical Philosophy;
Epistemology; Continental European Philosophy; Aesthetics. In
addition to their areas of specialisation, candidates should have a
broad awareness of the history of philosophy and should possess a
demonstrable record of research achievement.

Duties shall be as laid down by the Head of Department and shall
include lecturing, tutoring, research supervision, administration, and
research leading to publication.

The current salary scale for the above post is:

Assistant Lecturer: ?25,946 - ?41,876 (new entrants)

College Lecturer: ?40,446 - ?65,565 (new entrants)

The appointment will be made at either Assistant Lecturer/College
Lecturer level, depending on qualifications and experience.
