The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a
rigorous pre-university course of studies, leading to examinations, that
meets the needs of highly motivated secondary school students between the
ages of 16 and 19. Designed as a comprehensive two-year curriculum that
allows its graduates to fulfill requirements of various national
educational systems, the diploma model is based on the pattern of no
single country but incorporates the best elements of several. The
programme is available in English, French and Spanish.

As a membership organization, the IBO provides curriculum and assessment
development, teacher training and information seminars, electronic
networking and other educational services to more that 800 participating
schools in nearly 100 countries around the world.

As a result of continued growth and development the IBO is looking to
make a number of senior examining appointments. Applicants should have a
degree or equivalent in the appropriate subject, recent teaching
experience at university entrance level, and experience of external
examining or knowledge of assessment procedures. International
experience or knowledge of Spanish and/or French would be an advantage.

Applications are particularly sought from university academic staff, but
experienced teachers of the IB Diploma Programme will be considered for
deputy posts. The appointments will take effect from September 2002 and,
for most positions, will be expected to last five years. Examination
sessions are held in May and November each year.

some of whom may be practicing IB teachers. Please note that, although

participation in meetings in Cardiff, and occasionally elsewhere, a few
times a year. Examiners are not regarded as employees of the IBO.

Applications are invited from around the world. Further information
