(1) Lecturer A Scale (=A320,470 to =A324,435 p.a.)
Applicants will have/be about to complete a PhD, and demonstrate a
record of/potential for first-rate research and high quality
teaching. Candidates may offer expertise in any area of philosophy
though the ability to teach Logic, Ancient Philosophy or Philosophy
of the Social Sciences would be desirable. The Department recently
achieved scores of 5 in the RAE and 24 in the QAA. Available from 1
October 2002.

Candidates should have expertise in the philosophy of science,
although an ability to teach introductory formal logic would be
desirable. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to
high-quality teaching, and an ability to contribute to a lively
research culture in a department which has recently achieved scores
of 5 in the RAE and 24 in the QAA. Available from 1 October 2002 for
12 months.
