The University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras announces a tenure-track
position (assistant professor) beginning in August for a specialist in
English Syntax to teach undergraduate courses in English Language and
Linguistics and graduate courses in English Syntax, and serve as
thesis advisor. Secondary areas of emphasis might include phonology,
semantics, language acquisition or sociolinguistics. A willingness to
teach ESL as well as basic and advanced linguistics courses is
helpful.

A Ph.D. in Linguistics and a commitment to research and publication
are required. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable but not required at
the time of initial contract. Teaching load of 12 credits per
semester, competitive salary. Send curriculum vitae, 3 letters of
