Mary Immaculate College is a university-level College of
Education and the Liberal Arts, academically linked with the University =
of
Limerick. It serves the needs of a growing and diverse student =
population of
over 2,000 students. Undergraduate programmes for B.Ed. and B.A. =
degrees and
a range of postgraduate programmes at Diploma, Masters and Doctorate =
level
are offered at the College.
Applications are invited for a three-year contract post in
Philosophy at Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer level.=20
The duties of the person appointed will be at undergraduate
and postgraduate levels, and will include lecturing, tutorial work,
research, examining, developing teaching & learning strategies, =
supervision
of research, academic administration and engaging with both students =
and the
broader learning community.
Candidates will have:
(1) A postgraduate degree, normally at doctoral level
(2) Previous teaching experience, preferably at Third
Level
(3) The ability to work effectively within an
established team environment=20
(4) Very good interpersonal, organisation and
communication skills
The department welcomes applications from candidates with
specialist expertise/competence in one or more of the following
areas: philosophy of mind, philosophical psychology,
critical reasoning, ethics (including nursing ethics).

they meet each of these prerequisites.
Annual salary scales: EUR34283 to EUR57296 (Asst. Lecturer
- 9 points)
EUR39922 to EUR65524 (Lecturer - 9
points)
