Foreign Language/French: Rochester Institute of Technology invites
applications for a one year appointment of Lecturer of French. The
position begins September 2002. Required are the ABD or Ph.D. in
French, Second Language Acquisition, or Linguistics and native or
near-native fluency in French and English. Candidate must have
commitment to and demonstrable excellence in the teaching of language
courses using proficiency-oriented methodologies. The successful
candidate can integrate technology into the learning process and has a
commitment to fostering global awareness. Interest in curriculum
development is desirable. Responsibilities include language courses
at the beginning and intermediate levels, and departmental and
collegial involvement. We offer concentrations, minors, and electives
to all RIT students as part of the Liberal Arts curriculum, and we
anticipate contributing to a degree program in International Studies.
