The Center for Language and Cognition Groningen (CLCG) within the
Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen has an opening for a
Ph.D. student (AIO) for the subproject "A cross-modular analysis of
focus".

This subproject is part of the Cognition program "Conflicts in
Interpretation", which is financed by NWO. The program is carried
out in cooperation with the universities of Utrecht and Nijmegen. A
total number of three positions is available for two Ph.D. students
and one postdoctoral fellow.

The task of the Ph.D. position in Groningen is to carry out the
research project "A cross-modular analysis of focus", leading to a
Ph.D. dissertation.

Your profile:
- an MA in Computational Linguistics, Artifical Intelligence or
comparable
- an interest in interdisciplinary research
- excellent writing skills
- preferably some research experience

The University of Groningen offers a gross salary beginning at gross
EUR 1.445 per month in the first year and rising to EUR 2.063 in the
last year. Ph.D. students receive a contract for one year extendible
for three further years subject to evaluation after one year. The
research project has to lead to a Ph.D. dissertation. See "What is
