Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Studentship
Irish-Scottish Studies

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellowship in
Irish-Scottish studies, tenable from 1 October 2002 to 30 September
2005. The successful candidate will have recently completed a
doctorate in Scottish and/or Irish-Scottish literary studies or in a
related area and will have a particular interest in Irish-Scottish
literary relations with particular reference to the Reformation and/or
the Enlightenment in Ireland and/or Scotland. The Research Fellow will
be expected to pursue independent research leading to publication, and
will also be required to teach one undergraduate option course in
Scottish literature and to assist in the teaching of one further
course in the area.
Commencing salary: ?30,000 per annum, rising by 5% at 1st October,
2003 and annually thereafter.
Studentship in Irish Scottish Studies
Applications are invited for a three-year postgraduate studentship
beginning on 1 October 2002 which will enable the successful candidate
to pursue research on an aspect of Scottish literature or of
Irish-Scottish literary relations. The value of the studentship is
?10,250 plus fees at the EU level. The successful candidate will be
registered in the first instance for the degree M. Litt., and may
apply after one year to transfer to the Ph. D. register, subject to
satisfactory progress.
