Computer Services Technician
The successful candidate will be part of a team providing technical
support to the Institute s students, staff and external clients in
their use of both academic and administrative technologies, including
hardware and software. In the initial stages the candidates main role
will involve Computer Service Helpdesk operation / support.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a thorough
understanding of PC Operating systems and platforms particularly
Windows NT / 2000, Novell Netware and Unix (Solaris). In addition the
successful candidate will demonstrate excel lent communication and
problem solving skills and will have the ability to work within a team
environment.
Experience in some of the following would be desirable: -
Business / Academic desktop application Software.
Lotus Notes
Audio Visual Equipment
LAN / WAN Communications
Desktop Support Including multiple PC Imaging
Qualifications:
The minimum academic qualification required for this post is National
Certificat e in Computing or other relevant to the sanction of the
Department of Education and Science. Applications must be submitted
