ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/SENIOR LECTURER
PHILOSOPHY
FACULTY OF HUMAN SCIENCES

The Philosophy Programme at the University of Natal in Durban, invites
applications for a permanent post at the Associate Professor/Senior
Lecturer level. The applicants' range of specialisations should
include one or more aspects of the Philosophy of Science and/or
Cognitive Science. Applicants should also be competent to teach Ethics
and/or Political Philosophy up to senior undergraduate
levels. Additional areas of specialisation and competence, including
capacity to engage in interdisciplinary teaching, would be
advantageous.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants for the post must have an appropriate PhD, and records of
excellent research and teaching. To be considered at the level of
Associate Professor, applicants should have a substantial record of
published research.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will teach courses at undergraduate and
graduate levels, pursue research, participate in curriculum
development and programme administration, and engage in postgraduate
supervision.

and teaching qualifications for the relevant post.
