LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER
DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY
The Department of Philosophy is looking to make a new, permanent
appointment at either Lecturer (equivalent of US Assistant Professor) or
Senior Lecturer (equivalent of senior US Assistant Professor or junior
Associate Professor) level. Both areas of specialization and competence
are open; however, an ability to teach in one or more of the following
areas may be an advantage: History of Philosophy, African Philosophy,
Philosophy of Religion and Philosophy of Language. It is hoped that the
successful candidate for this new post will commence duties in February
2003.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in Philosophy, and will be
required to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours/Masters)
courses, provide supervision for postgraduate (Masters and Doctoral)
dissertations, participate in departmental academic activities and take
some administrative responsibilities.
The remuneration package is negotiable and includes highly competitive
benefits.
