Research Studentships in Distributed Computing
Applications are invited for a number of sponsored research studentships
in the Distributed Systems Group of the Department of Computer Science at
Trinity College Dublin, to undertake postgraduate research in the area of
peer-to-peer computing. The research is part of the PISEIA project funded
by Enterprise Ireland.
The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) communications paradigm is emerging as the
infrastructural basis for a new suite of Internet applications.
Different applications deploy different topologies, i.e., ways of
arranging the nodes to form a P2P network. The PISEIA project explores
performance, security, privacy and other issues related to topology in P2P
networks.
Applicants should have a good honours primary degree or Master's degree in
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related area.
Please apply by email to the address below including a curriculum vitae in
PDF format, giving full details of qualifications and experience, together
with the names of two referees.
Closing date for applications is 31 August 2002, with start from 1 October
2002. There are two studentships available, one for 2 and one for 3 years
duration. Both carry a generous stipend, including fees.
