Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cognitive Linguistics

The Fellow will join the Language and Cognition Research Group in the
Faculty of Arts, which takes in
research in linguistics, psychology, archaeology, and philosophy.
Applicants must present a specific, clearly-defined research plan for a
three-year project in either of the following areas:
(a) semantics and syntax of mental state predicates in a language
other than English, or
(b) cognitive aspects of bilingualism and/or second language
acquisition.
Applicants will have a relevant PhD in linguistics, applied linguistics,
or psycholinguistics, relevant research experience, and be able to
demonstrate outstanding research potential. Demonstrated
interdisciplinary research expertise would be an advantage. In order to
carry out the proposed project, it is expected that applicants will have
expertise in one or more languages other than English. Guidelines for

It is a 3 year fixed-term position.
Salary is $46,429-$49,857 (+ 17% employer-funded superannuation and
salary packaging), i.e. Level A (Base+5 to Base+7). The Fellowship is
supported by a $5,000 research fund.
