University College Dublin, Computing Services
has commenced a major programme to enhance and
develop the IT infrastructure and Services of
the College in support of its research and
teaching mission. Computing Services is
responsible for the provision of all Academic
Research and Teaching computing facilities to
over 2,000 staff and 17,000 students. These
range from high performance computing, to
student desktop services and the provision of an
environment capable of supporting advanced
teaching and learning technologies.

IT Specialist (C3/C4 Contract position)

The Technology Management group is responsible
for the operational environment of the College
community based on client/server technologies,
using networked UNIX, NetWare and NT operating
systems.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed
staff to participate in developing and managing
our systems. The successful candidate will be
quick to learn and will have in-depth knowledge
of Novell - NetWare 5 & 6, NDS and Clustering,
preferably as a system
administrator. Familiarity with HP/Compaq
Storageworks SANs and SANworks software would be
a distinct advantage. The position also involves
the administration of NT servers.
Appointment may be made at C3 or C4 grade:
C3 - 25,671 to 35,297
C4 - 19,963 to 28,078
Placement of the above scales will be subject to
qualifications and experience.
