Salary up to £35,813 pa inc.

The Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method wishes to
appoint a permanent Lecturer. The candidate should possess or be about
to obtain a relevant PhD, and should have competence in one or more of
the following areas: Philosophy of Biology, Logic up to advanced level
and Philosophical Logic, Moral and Political Philosophy.

The Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method was founded
in 1946 by the eminent philosopher Sir Karl Popper. It is
internationally recognised for its excellence in philosophy,
especially in the philosophy of science. It obtained the top grade of
5* in the last RAE exercise. Areas of research strength include:
philosophy of science, philosophy of physics, philosophy of economics,
philosophy of the social sciences, philosophy and public policy,
causation, the foundations of probability, theory change and theory
testing.
