The Department of African and Asian languages and Literatures,
University of Florida, invites applications for a tenure-track
position of assistant professor in Japanese beginning August 2004.
We seek a candidate with expertise in japanese language pedagogy or
sociolinguistics who creatively integrate concerns with language,
media, and culture with the problems of new information technology.
Qualifications include a Ph.D. by time of appointment, native or
near-native proficiency in Japanese and English, and a focused and
original research agenda.
Teaching load is 2-2, salary and benefits competitive. Please send
