Using Goal-Driven Inference and Implicature to Build Relevant Discourse
Models
Applications are invited for an EPSRC-funded research post in the
Department of Computer Science working with Dr Helen Gaylard. The
objective of the
project is to develop mechanisms for constructing relevant discourse
models to support the development of a system of language
understanding. You will be a graduate, ideally with a PhD in
Computational Linguistics or a related discipline. You should have
research expertise in either computational semantics or automated
inference, and preferably be an experienced Prolog programmer. This
fixed-term post is available for 30 months, with a starting salary in
the range points 4- 6 18,265-20,311 sterling (under review) on Grade
Research 1A, with placement dependent on qualifications and
experience.
