Lecturer
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, seeks to make an appointment in Korean
Language for a three-year full-time position as Director of the Korean
Language Program at the rank of Lecturer, beginning August 15, 2004.
We seek a candidate able to teach Korean language courses at all
levels and willing to participate in a full range of Korean language
program activities. Required are an M.A. (minimum) or a Ph.D.
(preferred) degree in Korean language pedagogy, linguistics, or a
related field, experience teaching Korean at the university level, and
high proficiency in both Korean and English. Experience with Korean
language teaching materials development, especially those involving
computer-based instructional technologies, is preferred. The salary is
competitive and commensurate with qualifications. To assure full
