Department Of Philosophy

Reader/Senior Lectureship £35,251 - £39,958 (pay award pending)
Lecturer £22,191 - £25,451 (pay award pending)

The Department of Philosophy has a well-established reputation in both
research and teaching. Current strengths are social, legal, and moral
philosophy, philosophy of mind and the theory of knowledge and
philosophy of logic and language.

For either post you will be, among other things, active in research,
contribute to the Department's teaching, and take on some
administrative tasks.

For the post of Reader/Senior Lecturer you should have an excellent
research record in one of the areas of strength listed above. Please

For the post of Lecturer you should be active in research in either
philosophy of mind or the theory of knowledge. You will benefit from
the University's probation scheme, which provides a significant
reduction of teaching and administration in the first three
