University Lectureship in Speech Processing

Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in the
Department of Engineering from candidates working in any area of
speech processing. It is hoped the successful candidate will take up
appointment no later than 1 September 2004. The successful candidate
will have or be expected to develop a record of world class research
commensurate with the Department's international reputation and
top-rank research rating. The person appointed will join the Speech
Group within the Machine Intelligence Laboratory. Teaching
responsibilities will include contributing to the MPhil in Computer
Speech, Text and Internet Technology, relevant undergraduate courses,
and supervising final year undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The pensionable salary scale for a University Lecturer is 23,296 -
35,950 UKL per annum. This is a tenure-track faculty position and
appointment will be for five years in the first instance, with
reappointment thereafter subject to satisfactory performance.
