Northwestern University's inter-disciplinary program in Culture,
Language, and Cognition (CLC) has one position for a postdoctoral
fellow. The fellowship is for two years, and may be renewed.
Responsibilities include teaching one course per year related to
culture, language and/or cognition, and administrative activities such
as grant writing, organizing workshops and the like.
Recipients of the fellowship awards are expected to have a recent
Ph.D. (received within the last four years) in an area of research
relevant to CLC (anthropology, psychology, linguistics, communication
sciences, or closely related fields) and to be involved in
interdisciplinary studies related to one of the CLC's main research
themes. Fellows are expected to interact with CLC faculty members who
are in their area of research; collaborative publication is
encouraged. Fellows are also expected to do their own independent
research.
Fellowship support consists of 50% from the CLC program and 50% for
research with one or more CLC faculty (The fellow will be matched up
with a specific faculty member before being hired).
Experience/expertise in cross-cultural and cross-linguistic research
is a priority. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Applications should include a vita, research statement,
