Applications are invited for the above permanent post in the School of
English Studies. This post forms part of a strategic expansion of this
School, rated 5A in the 2001 RAE. Candidates should have a PhD, be
research-active and have interests in the broad field of applied
linguistics with a specific interest and research profile in
sociolinguistics, pragmatics and critical discourse
analysis. Preference may be given to those with experience and the
ability to offer teaching in web-based distance learning. Salary will
be within the range £22,954 - £26,327 per annum, depending on
