Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh, is allocating up to
eight funded PhD studentships of £6,555 p.a (plus a discretionary
allowance of up to £1,800 p.a and assistance with additional research
expenses). Fees will be waived.
In addition we have a range of other bursaries including Martlet
Scholarships for overseas students, which contribute towards the cost
of fees and special QMUC/Lothian University Hospitals NHS Trust
jointly funded studentships.
The Department of Speech and Language Sciences, offers PhD supervision
in one or more of the following areas:
-Use of ultrasound to measure tongue movements (Ref:SLS1)
-Changes in patterns of nonverbal communication associated with old age
(Ref:SLS2)
-Voice quality in Down's Syndrome (Ref:SLS3)
-Instrumental approaches to diagnosis and/or treatment of speech
disorders (Ref:SLS4)
-Motor speech control in adult stutterers (Ref:SLS5)
-Communication skills in older people with learning difficulties (Ref:SLS6)
